This device is a portable, lightweight, digital, wirelessly-enabled diary that empowers patients to easily record their pain levels before and after their prescribed medication. As reported on July 10, 2010, in PRNewswire, the Health Journal for Pain is developed around Cypak’s Touch and Post technology and Near Field Communication (NFC), a two-way communication technology based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) which enables wireless communication between devices over a short distance. Dr. Jeffres is a licensed psychologist who draws from a wealth of experience in working with children and families. Originally trained as a teacher and counselor, she continues to explore the effects of trauma on the human psyche. She has completed research into the treatment of EMDR with traumatized children. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, EMDR, is an information processing therapy and uses an eight phase approach to address the experiential contributors of a wide range of conditions. One of the procedural elements is “dual stimulation” using bilateral eye movements, tones or taps. During the reprocessing phases the client attends momentarily to past memories, present triggers, or anticipated future experiences while simultaneously focusing on a set of external stimulus. During that time, clients generally experience the emergence of insight, changes in memories, or new associations. Dr. Jeffres has 15 years experience providing psychotherapy to children, families, and adults. She is well respected for her work with traumatized children and women. It’s the 5^th year of Bill Bohnyak’s career as Sheriff of Vermont’s Orange County. The best aspect of his job is that it’s a constant source of opportunities for him to give back to his community. One such course of action will happen on August 21 when Sheriff Bohnyak rides through 100 miles of Vermont’s countryside as he leads the 5^th annual Last Mile Ride. The proceeds of this ride go to the Gifford Medical Center program that provides special care in a garden-side suite, the Garden Room, for patients at the end of life and to their grieving families. Sheriff William Bohnyak has been a member with Madison Who’s Who since May of 2009. He is a Lifetime member with Madison Who’s Who, and we take this time to salute the sheriff’s efforts to make life easier for those in Orange County, Vermont.

Toward the end of this past June, Oxford’s Saїd Business School hosted its 2010 Research Colloquium on Social Entrepreneurship which sought out an intimate community of social entrepreneurship scholars to come to its doors. Dr. Celine Chew a teacher of strategy and nonprofit marketing to undergraduate and postgraduate students, and a supervisor of MBA, MSc and PhD projects/dissertations at Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University, was invited to speak on the topic of “Social Enterprise activities in voluntary and charitable organizations in Wales: Implications for practice and policy development”. Madison Who’s Who salutes this latest achievement of Dr. Chew’s. Dr. Celine Chew has been a Lifetime Member with Madison Who’s Who since February 2008.

Peter S. Liao, MD, PhD, FACS became the Chief of Bariatric Surgery at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, GBMC’s Comprehensive Obesity Management Program in August of 2008. Dr. Liao specializes in Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass, Laparoscopic Gastric Banding, and Sleeve Gastrectomy, as well as a number of other advanced laparoscopic procedures. As you hear him tell it, he loves his discipline for it enables him to make a difference. He helps people with their weight struggles, tailoring plans and procedures. He likes being there for his patients: from implementing the process, throughout the follow up he is ready for any bumps emotional or physical his patients encounter, and he is there when they have reached their goal. He sees his field as special, for you don’t necessarily get as regular a type of feedback in which you see how you’ve made a positive difference in a patient’s life. First off Jeri E. Katz is a teacher among teachers, as her expertise is Special Education Teacher Training. She is a Professor at Bridgewater State College. Her profession is not the only thing that makes Dr. Katz special. One who can rise above tragedy, and set herself on a mission toward the prevention of the same tragic event from happening to others, is very special in deeds. Three years ago, on Mother’s Day, Dr. Katz’s son, Jordan, was killed in a car accident caused by a moment’s distraction with a cell phone. Since then she and her husband have taken up the quest to pass hands-free cell phone legislation in Massachusetts. They appeared in January on Oprah. The show originally was on texting while driving until the producers found out about Jordan’s story. Massachusetts has since passed distracted driver laws that will go into effect 9-30-10. Jeri Katz has been a member with Madison Who’s Who since October of last year. Madison Who’s Who applauds her efforts and congratulates her on a job well done.

As Applications Analyst II for the Midland Independent School District, she is responsible for providing Information Management services for 20,000+ students and for 3,000 personnel members. Her job involves troubleshooting and management of data, creating and building of files, performing financial reports, among other things. Ms. Whisner joined Madison Who’s Who just over five years ago. She is a Lifetime member of Madison Who’s Who.

Barbara Healy is currently a Retirement Plan Sales Specialist for Cuna Mutual Group, and in addition she is a Self Employed Consultant who works with public sector and non-profit educational institutions. She has 30 years of experience exclusively assisting school districts with their voluntary pension plans. Barbara is popular lecturer, and has authored the book Personal Financial Planning Handbook for Education and other Nonprofit Employees and has published many financial articles and monographs as well as recorded many educational cassettes for MetLife Resources, Nationwide Retirement Solutions, and Great West Life. She became a Lifetime Member with Madison Who’s Who, nearly five years ago. It will be a while before Barbara Healy retires, but Madison Who’s Who will be there for her when she decides to.

Keith Kristalovich is the Campus Director of Robertson College’s Calgary Campus. He has been in this position since 2008. The College started three new programs in the fall of 2008 with each program designed to have students career ready in under a year. The Administrative Professional, Legal Administrative Assistant, and Travel Counselor programs are the newest programs to be offered. Keith Kristalovich became a Gold Member with Madison Who’s Who this past October.
